Icyene Character

Anyone remember this? Well, I'm trying to create an Icyene character for similar reasons, I just can't think of a good way to justify the character existing. I can't come up with a worthwhile story as to why the character didn't suffer the fate of all other Icyene in lore. Would anyone be willing to offer up a reasonable story? Anything would help, just something to help kickstart my brain(it hasn't been very helpful with character history, ever).
