Branwen is a one of the most experienced and respected herblorists in Tirannwn. Despite her advancing years, she continues to run her own business, Branwen's Apothecarial and Botanical Supplies, from a modest shop in the Meilyr Quarter of Prifddinas, although her clients stretch far and wide across Gielinor.

She teaches natural philosophy in her spare time, and is considered by many to be a pillar of the Elven community.

Biography

Branwen was born in Prifddinas in the year 1702 of the Fourth Age. She is a distant cousin of Lady Meilyr.

Branwen married only once, and quite late. In 1927, she moved from Prifddinas to Baxtorian's Eastern Kingdom, where she encountered a younger man, a Meilyr speleologist named Cador. After a whirlwind romance, they married the following year.

The marriage was a happy one in a turbulent time, with the Elven Civil War breaking out around them (1930) and the ruin of the Eastern Kingdom (1930-35), until it was cut short by a more personal tragedy: Cador was murdered by soldiers of Lord Iorwerth in 1938.

Their daughter, Arwydd, was born in Lletya the following year; but in the year 79 of the Fifth Age, Arwydd went missing in Daemonheim and was long presumed dead, along with her husband. Branwen took it upon herself to raise their orphaned daughter Fynnien, later taking her on as her apprentice, until Fyn left Tirannwn in 168.

When Prifddinas was restored a few years later, Branwen returned to her old home, along with many of her clan. Having served the Rebel side as a medic and apothecary for many long years during the Elven Civil War, Branwen swiftly turned her reputation in the community into a successful business, establishing a laboratory and shop in the Meilyr quarter. Her granddaughter's penchant for travel and adventure provided her with both a ready procurer of rare and hard-to-reach ingredients, and the beginnings of an international client network.

In Year 7 of the Sixth Age, Fynnien was kidnapped by a band of Dark Elves known as The Keepers, led by a woman styling herself Marwnad. It transpired that Marwnad was none other than Arwydd, Branwen's long-lost daughter; however, Branwen did not learn this until after the Battle of the Deephold, when Marwnad was already dead.
