With the recent publishing of the Styles of Roleplay page, I think it would be a worthy consideration to rename this page to 'Common Rules of Textplay', OR reformat it to include subheading rules for each style of roleplay.
I had posted a comment on the page about this, but I think a more proper conversation could be had here.
It is my belief that by properly documenting and classifying the styles of roleplay, more avenues of roleplay are opened up and are able to be learned about, and this is good for new people to roleplay.
But without changes in wording to some articles, potential new roleplayers may get the wrong idea. All three styles we have currently are roleplay for sure, but someone could mistake and get confused with this common rules page. The page is reference to textplay roleplay, but it does not specify as such. It does not mention textplay, so a new roleplayer could assume the rules apply to all three styles. However, this would be erroneous. Descriptive gameplay does not precisely follow the rules, and themeplay doesn't at all.
