Hello, I did the bottom introduction, too. But it was nonplussed. Now, after some years of explaining to myself my whole RuneScape legacy amongst my Kawaler bachelory magisture {
} I know how to not just say it out of character. For me I learned that the magic(k)al community of players had preferred if I didn't roleplay on RuneScape, fore it'd purge myself from the communism, if I was noble enough. And it did, I got my account locked thanks to Jagex incorporating to do so specifically because I wanted to try RuneScape without magic(k) gains. But life as an Adventuring Kinshra Knight was fun; That's what I roleplayed as, and it helped me accomplish a sense of Player-Killing away from just Ranger sharpshooting. Thanks for having me, I am working on a Kinshra story itself of my character. The legacy may be revived on my new accounts (1 per 99 accomplished on this 1), for all those sharpshootings - to avenge the Zamorakian intrigue I fathomed aside peerages. Seems naught, I am really proud of my black knight skills and keep to that faith instead. But I did get 99 Prayer, that one is 10 levels away from 70 Ranged, so perhaps that'd be fulfilled. I was playing as a Zamorakian Ranger consciously before trying to virtue Black Knight of the Kinshra. Keeps me from wearing the blue plumed Black Full Helmet, but the armor is impeccable to miss!
Since 2011, the RuneScape Roleplay Wiki has been one of the primary lexicons for the RS Roleplay community and curated by a dedicated team of Administrators appointed to curate, advise, and protect its contents in line with good principles and intentions. As time has progressed, we have seen members of this respective team come and go.
Tonight however marks a significate change in what will be our tenth year of operation. Siberys has remained a constant presence since they founded the Wikia, even when he withdrew from active participation in-game, and encouraged me into participating on this platform - something I am grateful for. His contribution to our community should not be understated or ever forgotten.
Yet time still ticks on in the real world, and we cannot ignore its call. As life has demanded far more of Siberys in recent months, he has decided to hand over the reins to someone who can continue to monitor and maintain the Wikia.
Therefore, Siberys has decided to transfer ownership of the RuneScape Roleplay Wiki to me.He has also graciously agreed to remain on the administration team as Technical Advisor, retaining full administrative privileges on the Wikia and our Discord.
In practice, this is more of a bureaucratic change in preparation for whenever Siberys does decide to fully retire from the Wikia. This change in management will mean we are not left in a precarious position of not having access to essential administration permissions and resources. You also deserve to know this, as this is a community that cannot exist without your continued support and contributions.
For those who are concerned about my appointment to this position I can assure you, I have no intentions of changing any of our major policies, especially our Good Faith policy. That is the foundation that ensures this Wikia’s neutrality and the protection of its contents to benefit everyone, regardless of their own views in this community.
While no changes to the Wikia itself are planned for the foreseeable future, I do have plans to review the RSRP Wikia Discord into making a more relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. This will involve the appointing of one or two dedicated moderators to assist users when we are not available, the retirement or merger of underused channels, and finally a review of the rules with the intention to foster a more positive and relaxed atmosphere amongst us all.
As always, we invite you to offer suggestions and constructive feedback on our Discord.
With recent events, the administration team has been discussing internally about some information that was brought to our attention, regarding the behaviour of certain individuals.
To keep a long and disheartening story short, we have seen firm evidence of a collaborated, meditated scheme to harass certain community members, undermining their efforts to enjoy roleplaying for them and anyone who participates with them. It is a worrying confirmation that world 42 continues to have toxic elements.
We maintain a policy of neutrality on this wiki, to keep our platform open to everyone, without the fear of their commentary being modified or deleted, out of bias or censorship. However, our neutrality is not absolute. We also balance this with moral and written standards, to filter out vitriolic and substandard content that violate either our own or FANDOM’s rules.
In this case, these individuals have decided to take advantage of our neutrality. They have attempted on multiple occasions to violate our standards, vandalising the wiki with throwaway accounts in an attempt to incite a edit war.
We do not tolerate harassment in any form, and our platform will not be used to facilitate it.
Therefore, we have unanimously agreed to take the following action:
* The key individuals inciting this have been banned from the wiki.
* The “Aren Era” has been purged from the History of Falador page. Attempts to restore it will be considered vandalism.
* New accounts will now be required to be at least 1 week old, before they can edit any page.
As back with the TSG debacle in early 2016, we’re informing you about these actions for transparency. We don’t perform such acts lightly, but it is in the better interest of the wiki community as a whole. It is now up to the roleplaying community on how to move forward from this.
Hello, I'm that weird creepy guy you see waddling about aimlessly sometimes throughout 41/42. I am an ancient dirt man who started playing RS since, uh... Forever ago? Look, when I left, the last thing that was new was the Barrows Brothers. Why am I back? Because I'm bored, a lot of RP places I used to frequent are dead or dying, and I might as well try something new while returning to roleplay.
This is the place to talk about your favorite topic, to share news, theories, ideas, and to connect with others. The content from your Forum has been converted to Discussions posts, so nothing has been lost.
As everyone is probably now aware, we’re in the middle of a major rework of the entire wiki: Starting with our aesthetics and front page, we’re now moving into the large job of organisational work and content quality. So today we have begun the consultation stage of the largest part of the content quality: Reworking City Histories.
The “History of…” pages for the major towns and cities are arguably some of our most precious pieces of content, documenting years of fascinating, and arguably controversial periods of roleplay. But today they lie in an aged, shambolic mess that cannot be tolerated any longer. Something has to be done.
So, our plan is to archive these pages. They will NOT be deleted. They will moved to a new location and locked to preserve them. Their original places with be replaced with a new format, including a template and a set of standards we will expect to be kept.
You can view our current example for the rework here.
We want your feedback on it, since we need your backing here to make it work for everyone. Do you think something needs improvement? Do you think it needs more content? Is it something you would be happy to contribute to?
Please comment down below your thoughts, or join the discussion on the RSRP Wiki Discord's suggestion channel.
Recently, we have seen a shift in the community thanks to the introduction of Discord servers. These have proved to have both positive and negative influences. However, it has become clear that the community is currently split in its view of the platform, and specifically the server for world 42's roleplay. In order to facilitate communications with all facets of the community, the official RSRP Wiki Discord has been born.
Our support for other servers is not being discontinued: updates will still be provided across various platforms. The official Discord is meant to be a friendly, open platform for everyone who uses the wiki to communicate more conveniently and offer a platform where the administrators can more readily engage with the community.
The RuneScape Roleplay Wiki's official Discord server can be found here.
Our wikia featured articles are prominient articles that have attracted high traffic during the past month. The types of pages that are eligible to be featured are:
* Character pages * Faction/Group/Clan/Family pages
A few articles are excluded from being eligible for feature such as the front page, the Common Rules of Roleplay, the Werewolf Pack Rankings & the Mary Sue Test. The reason for this is due to high amounts of non-community traffic constantly bumping these pages.
With the rework of the featured articles system, we hope to promote and encourage users to continue creating quality content. We look forward to your contributions!
Sincerely,
The Staff Team
Addendum:
1 A featured article is not voted on, it is simply the article that has gleaned the highest trafic for the month. 1.1 A featured article may be removed if users engaged in foul play to bump it to the top. 1.2 A featured article may be removed upon author request at any given time. In that situation, the second most viewed article of the month will take its place. 2 The same article cannot be featured for two months in a row. 3 The list of pages that are not eligible to be featured is subject to change. If another page needs to be added to that list, there will be a post in this thread detailing why that page is not eligible to be featured.
Hi. I noticed recent changes to the wiki, though there wasn't an announcement post made, or much less a vote like we used to do for these sorts of things. I chalked it up to admin decisions, and just ignored it.
That said, today I come to find out these were all voted for in the Discord, that not all wiki users, use. Not only that, but the wiki's admins I talk to regularly didn't know about the change until it already happened.
That said, layout wise, I might as well give my opinion in hindsight, since I couldn't before the implementation.
It sucks.
That isn't to say the work our admins put into it sucks. They have done a great job on the wiki, and that can't be denied. It isn't to say their work isn't appreciated. But it's a matter of some issues with the current theme, that the old one just didn't have.
There, I got that out of the way. Though I should probably give my reasoning.
The beige wiki design wasn't flashy. It wasn't too dark or too bright, leaving focus on the text on the page. Beige is such a bland, uncommon colour, it works well for a wiki that has a variety of images both colourful, dark, bright, or monochome. After all, Khakis don't exactly sound flashy and fashionable, but they certainly don't look bad with any other colour. Beige compliments other colours well. This applies double on my pages, which were made with the beige wiki in mind. Here's some examples. Some turn out better. Others don't.
I appreciate that people are still happy to use the community server, though given the examples shown here, where many of the pictures used in articles by myself and others now clash with the more dynamic, loud theme the wiki has, I can't, in good conscience condone that future (or present) updates to the theme of the wiki be done without a vote on the wiki, so users who don't use the Discord, or do not feel welcome there, may give their input on how the wiki presents itself to a user.
So, running down what's irking me with those images, top to bottom...
I won't deny it, the Eclipse picture looks great! It's part of the reason I scrolled down to include it, because what goes right has just as much place here. But the other one on Thalia's page, the main image of her in her armour, is detailed in such a way to give a slight inky vibe. Like someone drew it into a story, rather than shooting for raw, beautiful shots in NXT Ultra. With the beige background, I could get a little artsy with this.
The second, the Renderra page, is another ball of wax. The beige background that is there is admittedly, my fault for not making it transparent. But the white, now surrounded by the darker Wiki text looks way too bright, especially since it's a pretty pure shade for a coat of arms, and not something that you come across ingame. Heraldry tends to lean to bright, pure colours to be more distinguishable.
The Third image, using the Old/Not Asgarnian Renderra colours, is a mess for another reason. The new wiki theme is so dark, you really need to focus on the image to see the shield is present, indicating it's heraldry.
Finally, the fourth page... Natalie Renderra's. The bright white clashes with the new theme, but since this is a sketch, removing the white means there is now just black, blending into our new theme. There's no way to keep Tibby's excellent detail in, without the white seeming to jump off the page too much.
Now, I'm going to point out a few other pages that come to mind.
Bloody Apple - The Beige works well with the theme, because it is easy to read in this case. The dramatics of the theme have a hard time clashing with the simplicity of the images by the bottom, but the ones by the top run into an issue of dramatic and dark colours once more. Similar can be said for issues of The Gielinor Times that use the text.
Hayley K. Spears - The art, being wonderfully hand-drawn, is suffering from white sheet syndrome and sticks out.
Some of the templates for articles are painfully bright, as well. The Zamorak one comes to mind, with how the bright red clashes with our new, dark blue theme. This is an easy fix though, so nothing too big.
The big issue is the theme and images. If the current theme is set into stone, and completely never coming up for discussion again for a few years, that's fine. I understand. But is it at all possible that we can have a border around the images, in a more neutral colour? Can someone test this on a few pages and see how that works, ones that look good and bad with the current theme?
Second, if this isn't possible, would some people be willing to go through some images and clean them up so they have a better look with the Wiki's theme?
Hey, all! I'm RolloTheBereskarn, I've been on Runescape since 2011, I roleplayed here starting 2012, ending in either 2014 or 2015 (I forget), but I left due to my roleplaying skills honestly not being that good (I like to think they're a little better now). I know roleplay is sort of becoming rare, espescially freelance, but I still want to be part of this community again.
I'll be joining first and foremost as Rollo of Thumbs, a Fremenikk Barbarian (who happens to be Gnomish in biology, info and stuff will come on that soon enough), and if roleplay is still good and going and stuff, I'll pop in with a few of my other characters.
As I look upon the pages of this wikia, scrolling through new lore I have not bothered to learn, it now comes to mind for me that I am no longer as eager as I once was to add something to this community. The carefree days of my RuneScape RP youth have come and gone, and I've grown weary of fixing and rearranging wiki pages... too tired to watch over edits others make and trying to make something pretty out of them... my time in RuneScape, I think, is at an end, and while I may once in a long while come back to briefly view the work of others and the state of the RP community, as I do now, that is all they will ever be: brief visits. No grand or noble goals, no more great adventures, no more stress. While I regret not grooming or finding anyone to take my role, I go knowing that someone, some day, may fill that gap as I once did. So it is now that I pass the torch off to all of you, in the hopes that one worthy soul will take it up and resume the work on that which was left undone.
While I hope to retain my adminship to this wiki, so that I might play some small role as the days pass by, and I revisit you from time to time, I leave you all with these words: Keep the lore of the game close to your hearts, for it is that which gives beauty and depth to world of RuneScape, that which makes it so worth it to role play in the game we so love... With lore, you can create stories and characters beyond your wildest dreams, stories to touch your heart and the hearts of others... all you have to do, is reach out... and learn!
As I go now, I want to impart to all of you a video that speaks of where I'm from, where I've stood, and where I continue to go. I hope you find some meaning in its words as I have.
Guess who's back? Yeeah, do you remember Pikmin Hero from World 42 who was that stupid kid who RP'd in Morytania with Krov Mizu Weasly? I'm back! I decided to come back and here I am on world 41 (due to me not having memembership), glad to be back
With River of Blood, we have a sigifinate new bit of lore regarding Vampyrism that might justify being a seperate page.
This is your last chance to avoid spoilers for River of Blood!
Ok, you've been warned.
I’m obviously talking about Wyrds, a hybridisation of Vampirism and Icyene that appear to have unique properties that separate them for either species, such as the innate hatred for “light”-orientated species, their more primal physiology, and their unique hallucinogenic poison that can cause deceased victims to zombify (according to Return to Canifis).
Practically as well it would avoid us having to edit both the Icyene and Vampyre guides with the same information.
What are your opinions on the subject? Should we create a new guide?
In light of a recent forum post, the admin team has been holding discussions in our group chat about what to do about some information that was recently brought to the attention of the community.
As an administrator, we are obliged to delete vitriolic content. It's firmly against the rules and there are no exceptions to the rule. None. It has nothing to do with liking the people whose page was defaced or not: how myself and the others feel about the creator/contributors of the page makes no difference whatsoever.
The value of transparency is not to be ignored. We do not want anyone to think that their commentary was deleted because of some kind of bias or because the admin team wishes to squash a discussion or, worse, delete important information. The information presented by the user is valid and, frankly, somewhat worrying. It confirms many doubts and stories that have been passed W42 for several years. For this reason, the comment from this user is being relocated to this thread in the next post.
The point that the staff team would like to bring forward is how TSG content should be treated on our wiki from here on out. We're not the only people that use this wiki -- we're just the janitors -- which is why we want to know what YOU think. Should the TSG-related pages be deleted? What do you propose?
P/S:
Please keep the discussion in this thread as cordial as possible. Vitriolic commentary will not be tolerated here either, from any side of the board. Anger is understandable, but going off on a tangent and insulting others is not.
Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum so I'll go ahead and introduce myself as well. I'm a returning player (It's been many years) and I've always been a roleplayer in other games I've played. Throughout the game I've noticed so many unused lore friendly armors that help create immersion in the game. If you'll please direct to this post I've made on the old school suggestion forums and take a moment to read what I've proposed, I think you'll be happy with it :).
Ayy, old guy Derp, here. I've been bored as of late and have fancied myself a little runescape during the holiday months and in to the new year. What has changed in the past 8 months? Are there any old faces who remember me (that I would remember too)? I look forward to returning soon.
Okay, so this is a game I thought of. Essentially, you take the infamous opening from My Immortal, and replace it with your own character and a description of them.
Like... This.
"Hi my name is Driez Lucius Dementia Renderra and I have long platinum blonde hair with small curls and that reaches my shoulders and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Bloodraven (AN: if u don't know who he is get da hell out of here!). I'm not related to Daenerys but I wish I was because she's a major fucking hottie. I'm a mahjarrat elf human but my teeth are straight and white. I have pale white skin. I'm also a druid, and I am king of a magic empire called Aethyric Empire in Gielinor where I'm in the forty-fifth year (I'm 45). I'm a goth (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching lace around it and a black leather miniskirt, blue fishnets and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and green eye shadow. I was walking outside Aethyrmony. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of Saradominists stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them."
Please post with your edgiest character, to make it all the more interesting!

Welcome to the community!
Welcome to the RuneScape Role-play Wiki! Hello and well met. This is a wiki dedicated to the topic of In-Game RuneScape role-playing on World 42. Here you may create pages for your characters, organizations, items, whatever benefits your roleplay. This is a community site that anyone can edit, including you!
