Said this before, and I'll say it again - the discord is for the community. If you aren't in it - and therefore "couldn't vote" - for whatever reason (anywhere from can't be bothered to download or some petty grudge), that's your prerogative and no one else is to blame.
It's not like no one knew there was an intended wiki rework. As Lor has said, it was mentioned a while ago.
Eh, maybe ringing a little bell. Not sure if I actually role-played with you; maybe just knew of you.
Haha, I've had lots of names but people generally know me moreso by this username than any other I've had (seeing as I regularly switch back to it).
This wiki does not blong to you any more than I can lay claim to the Grand Exchange as my own. It belongs to the Roleplaying Community of Runescape at large. The entirety of the runescape community doesn't need champions of destruction carving it up and laying claim to bits and pieces. It doesn't need more "successful" leaders... What it does need, desperately, are storytellers... architects... teachers... restorers, caregivers, and lovers of the game...
It needs us coming together and making something better. It already has plenty of venom, separatism, and egotism.
I actually can't express how much I agree with this. You, sir, have earnt my respect.
Also, nice to meet you.
1. People who assume ALL Dream of Mah chars are rofly or OP - Seriously, I put a rediculous amount of effort into making sure Cyrius has a great history and is very balanced. I've put an ungodly amount of work into making sure he is a proper character.
2. Metagamers - Oh yeah, this has to be on there. I've come across a lot of metagamers in roleplay. One guy once found a reason to attack my character for being a Zarosian because my title said "of Zaros." What the fuck?!
3. Grammar Nazis - My English is not perfect, so what? I always get people OOCly bashing me because of my grammar. I've been called a bad roleplayer because of it. So what my English isn't perfect? Deal with it!
4. Trolls - I get pissed at people who don't roleplay and they go into the bar and set up their cannon or place a bunch of shit to lag everyone, then they call all roleplayers gay nerds, what the fuck? These people obviously can't read that it's a roleplaying server!
5. Rediculously strict roleplayers - Oh yes, we all hate these douchebags. These are the people who criticise every little thing you do in roleplay. Don't you dare spell something wrong, lag out, accidentally press enter too early, misclick, or roleplay as something that does not fit their rediculous rules, or else you'll be blacklisted! These people also act like you care when they blacklist you, I know I don't. They want to blacklist me? Alright fine, I don't want to roleplay with you anyway. They bully new roleplayers constantly. These people will find some sort of reason to call your character out for some reason, they'll find something. These people pretty much say that you have to roleplay like them and your character has to be just like theirs. To top it off, when you do copy them completely because aparently that's what you're supposed to do, they yell at you for copying them! These people give me a migrane.
6. Hypocrites - I see an abundance of these in roleplay. These are similar to the strict roleplayers but they also do the same shit themselves. These are the people who will call you out on something for example, using magic without runes but they turn around and are able to move at speeds impossible for their character, or are too strong.
7. People who void what they don't like or just go OOC or even log when something doesn't go how they like - I'd like to hope that I'm right that this is a small amount of people. This is the douchebag who while fighting sometihng he most likely started just says he has to go and goes OOC and logs out, or it could be that one child who has a tantrum and voids a public roleplay because it isn't going their way. I have zero patience with these people. If you do that shit around me, I refuse to roleplay with you.
8. Bad roleplayers who think they are good - These are people who autohit, metagame, ect and beleive that they are doing it right. When you tell them what they are doing is wrong they flip a shit! I had one guy who was autohitting and I told him that was wrong and he just said, "shut up, you're the bad roleplayer not me." These people could fall into the hypocrite catigory but I think they are special enough to be here.
9. People who do not understand landscaling - My character owns a tower on an island far off of the wilderness, but I use the Tower of Life for it. I'm roleplaying in it and someone in there starts trying to communicate with my character. I tell them this isn't the Tower of Life for me and just to ignore me but they don't! It's the stupidest thing ever that people ignore the concept of landscaling.
10. People who can just have expensive armor - The other day, I roleplayed with someone who had full dragon armor which should be pretty much impossible to get. My fucking 7,500 year old Dream of Mah only has a worn out, unusable shoulder plate of a dragon chainbody, it's really just more of a collector's item. I think that's fine, a character like that can have that, but there are those asshats who have full fucking dragon armor for no reason!
11. People who just ignore actions - These are people that you just wish you could reach your hand into your computer screen and punch them in the face through theirs. If you attempt to hit them or something, they just ignore it for no reason! This is douchebaggery in it's finest.
12. People who just suck at lore - These are more than lorebreakers, these assholes don't even care about lore. Now, I think lorebending is okay but lorebreak, haha no. But these people are special, these people ignore lore so much that their character makes no sense. I've seen a guy in roleplay who claimed to have a flying saucer with a super computer, I shit you not. These people are annoying as fuck to be around. Bottom line, pay attention to lore if you want to roleplay.
13. People who take forever to reply - Sometimes I understand, you aren't the fastest typer. But if it takes you a minute to hit one key, you shouldn't roleplay. These people bore you to death as you wait for them to reply. I finished an entire Megaman level on my Gameboy while I waited for someone to reply to an action, not kidding.
14. Twilight vampyres - Yep, these are the Twilight fangirls who make their vampyre characters just like the characters from my least favorite book/movie series. Not only is this lorebreak, it's just fucking annoying. Vampyres do not sparkle, damn it!
15. ICly attacking you because of what you did OOCly, or vise versa - It's called IC and OOC for a reason, but for some morons out there let me break it down. OOC means Out Of Character, this means when you are not roleplaying. IC means In Character, this means when you are roleplaying. I like to see someone's character as not them, but someone else. So, when you do something OOCly or ICly and the person retaliates in the opposite state, that's just fucking retarded.
Well, that's all I can think of right now, I'll probably add more if I can think of them because I know there is more than just that.
- Jack The Mad
So you literally are Jack the Mad.
(I'm sorry but I had to.)
SO HARD.
"She keeps all these memory's in her house which contains a viewing room which projects the memory like a hologram. And anyone can come and view these memory's, but as a price they must lose a happy memory."
Wow, this is actually a fantastic idea... Really quite clever. I'd probably participate when I finish my exams. In the meantime, you have my support and encouragement.
A few of you have mentioned fighting (no, I'm not some renowned fighter to try and defend it or whatever) - while I understand what you're saying and see where you're coming from, some characters have actually had OoC years of experience with combat. Naturally, they're going to be good.
It's the ones who are relatively new and are self-proclaimed masters of combat (man, they're the worst) who have not been used in an IC fight.
- First person RPing. No.
- When people use modern day sort of phrases.
- Landhogging. Wasted potential.
- Those people who TRY TOO HARD.
Just like we grew up in our current societies and think it right...
Definitely subjective. Even I think our modern society has faults; i.e, its prejudice, its discrimination, its gender imbalance...
... I think he's more asking if we think it's morally acceptable. It's subjective to the person, really. It doesn't bother me.
